Targeted, preliminary or exhaustive environmental characterization – Phase 2

According to the standards CSA Z-769-00, ASTM E1903 and the MELCC soil characterization guide.

Presence or absence of contaminants in soils

Presence or absence of contaminants in soils

The objective of our Phase 2 environmental characterizations is to determine the presence or absence of contaminants in soils and/or groundwater at the boundary of the study property, through the collection of soil, groundwater and/or waste samples at the targeted locations previously identified in the Phase 1 study.

Accuracy of contaminated material quantities

Accuracy of contaminated material quantities

The exhaustive characterization allows, through complementary surveys, to specify the quantities of contaminated materials identified (contaminated soils and/or residual materials) and the modeling of the pollution plumes in the water table. Thus, it allows to optimize the estimation of the rehabilitation costs of the property and to propose the appropriate rehabilitation method.

Our Phase 2 environmental characterizations are carried out according to the statements of the Guide d'intervention - Protection des sols et réhabilitation des terrains contaminés of the Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, according to the guide de caractérisation des terrains of the MELCC, according to the standards CSA - Z769-00 and according to the requirements applicable by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) in a perspective of confirming the environmental quality of the site to be studied.
